About me and my therapy practice

Counselling is a confidential talking therapy and may provide extra support outside your network of family and friends. Coming to see a Counsellor for the first time can feel daunting and you may feel hesitant about sharing personal information with a complete stranger. I fully understand these feelings and I can offer you a safe, quiet and undisturbed space, where we can work together in a confidential, respectful, non-judgemental and empathic environment, while maintaining safe, professional boundaries.

I offer F2F Counselling and Telephone Counselling and I work to the BACP Ethical Framework. I believe Counselling can provide a unique, beneficial and sometimes necessary additional support for a client at a time of great change, upheaval and uncertainty in their life.

I am currently studying for a Neuroplasticity Diploma and I hold a Grief and Bereavement Counselling Diploma, an NLP Practitioner Diploma (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) a Life Coaching Diploma, a Diploma in NLP Foundation Skills (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), a Diploma in Mindfulness, a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling, an HND in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and I work from my home.

Practice description

In my Counselling Practice I integrate Person-Centred Counselling, CBT, NLP, Mindfulness, Grief & Bereavement Counselling and Life Coaching when and where appropriate with each client.

I can offer Person-Centred Counselling to help you try to understand, accept and come to terms with your thoughts, feelings and emotions about something that may be troubling you from your past, present or future.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), which can try to help you to recognise and become more aware of your thoughts, behaviours, feelings, moods and emotions about a situation or particular event in your life and to help you to change these thoughts, feelings and behaviours. CBT can help you to change how you think and feel and react to a particular situation, event or experience.

And Mindfulness which can help you to manage stress and worry by adopting a Mindful approach. "Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment and non-judgementally" Jon Kabat-Zinn. Adopting a Mindful approach can help you to manage depression, OCD, addiction, GAD, anxiety and panic attacks, by cultivating compassion, kindness and gratitude within yourself.

I attend regular monthly Supervision of my client work and I hold Professional Indemnity Insurance; an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service certificate (formerly CRB) and I continue to build upon my professional knowledge and experience (CPD) Continuing Professional Development Qualifications including; Counselling Skills Advanced; Mindfulness; Grief & Bereavement; Relaxation Breathing.

My first session

All counselling sessions are for one hour, during which time you can talk about your reasons for coming to counselling, if counselling is right for you and if we can work together.

Counselling may be able to help you become more aware and understanding and accepting of your thoughts, behaviours, feelings, moods and emotions about a particular situation or experience or event in your life, from the past, present or future

After many years of seeing clients, I believe Counselling can provide a unique, beneficial and sometimes necessary additional support for a client at a time of great change, upheaval and uncertainty in their life. Many clients have said to me, that coming to see a counsellor wasn't quite what they had expected and that it had helped them in many ways. I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about counselling.

I work from my Home and live in a quiet cul-de-sac, with on-street parking available.
