About me and my therapy practice

I am a Qualified Professional Counsellor with a Bachelor Honour's degree from University of East London.

Growing up, I heard the word counselling on numerous times, and I will occasionally, tell friends and families struggling, to seek therapy even though I did not understand it properly. What I thought was counselling was then, was infact, not counselling at all.  Curiosity took the better part of me when I chance on it as a course and chose to give up my banking career of many years to embark on this helping  journey. I was intrigued and wanted to study every bit of it so opted for the Integrative course where I learned most of the modalities. I have never looked backed since I engaged with my own discovery into personal counselling during and after my training.

It works, and no one needs to suffer alone, be it childhood trauma's, anxiety, depression, loneliness, fears and suicidal thoughts etc. It is always best to take steps to talk it through with a professional no matter how old or current the situation might be.

My work draws on Person Centered, CBT, Phsychodynamic and Humanistic Modalities to work out what will suit a  particular client. I usually start with Person Centered to delve into a client issues and bring in the other modalities as and when appropriate to help clients.

Practice description

Working as an integrative counsellor means I  look at different  modalities and draw on my  knowledge and expertise to tailor therapy for each particular client and their needs.

My approach is holistic and wide-reaching in that, I am not only interested in what works for my clients, but why it works. I tailor my therapy for my clients and not the client to the therapy.

Every client is unique and their circumstances too. How they react to situations and how they feel and see things are different too and I respect that and takes that on board.
