About me and my therapy practice
At times it can be very confusing and frustrating when we can't make sense of our emotions. Maybe it's emptiness, feeling lost or having to deal with a big change in your life. Whether you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I welcome you to get in touch. I offer a calm safe space where together we can find clarity on what has brought you to seek counselling. My authentic, warm and inclusive approach helps to create a non-judgemental environment. My core intention is to help build a supportive therapeutic relationship that promotes clients’ wellbeing and healing. I am an integrative counsellor with a person-centred approach at the core of my therapy. I hope to provide a dedicated time and safe space where we can explore and work through the struggles and challenges you are experiencing.
I have over fifteen years of experience of working with clients with a range of mental health difficulties. I am currently working as a counsellor for Bristol Mind and the NHS where I offer counselling to clients with a range of issues. I also have extensive experience of working with students in higher education as a counsellor and wellbeing officer. I work collaboratively with the client in an effort to understand how they construe their inner reality and life experiences and at the heart of my counselling is a commitment to developing a relationship where my clients feel safe, listened and accepted. I am culturally sensitive, open-minded and receptive to new ideas in order to be able to provide an inclusive service. I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds with a range of mental health difficulties and cultural and identity issues. In addition to English, I also to speak Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
My first session
Maybe this is your first time thinking about seeking support or maybe you have had it in the past and want to revisit some of the issues. I understand there may be some apprehension therefore I offer free consultation over the phone for you to see how it feels. Currently I use a secure and encrypted video conferencing platform for online counselling, and should you choose to make contact, I will provide more information and guidance about how it works.
