About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist. I work with individuals and couples who are looking for a confidential space where they can explore issues that are getting in the way of having a fulfilling and mutually satisfying relationship. I trained at Tavistock Relationships where until recently I worked as a visiting clinician seeing clients for assessments and longterm therapy. I continue to attend their continuing professional development (CPD) courses.
I am psychodynamic psychotherapist which means I help clients understand how early experiences affect patterns of behaviour, thoughts and emotions throughout life in both positive and negative ways. These experiences influence how we see ourselves and relate to others but are often outside of our awareness (unconscious) or poorly understood. By getting to know ourselves and those we are closest to, with compassion and curiosity, the quality of our relationships in the present can be greatly improved.
My first session
After I hear from you, I like to have a brief chat on the phone so that we can introduce ourselves, followed by an initial online consultation which lasts about an hour. Sometimes it is necessary to have a second consultation before we start ongoing work.
Thereafter, I offer 50 minutes sessions which take place at the same time every week. The fee for consultations is the same as ongoing therapy.
