About me and my therapy practice
Most people will find that there are times in their lives when things feel particularly difficult, perhaps overwhelmingly so. This might be due to a specific experience happening currently or in the past, or general feelings of being lost or confused. At these times, accessing counselling can feel like a useful support.
Perhaps particularly at the moment, support and guidance is needed more than ever. Counselling can be a place to start to process some of the trauma and loss (in its different forms), of the past year.
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and have worked with people facing a variety of issues such as relationship and/or family problems, anxiety, childhood trauma, bereavement, loss of identity, low self-esteem and confidence, work place stress and issues around pregnancy, birth, and new parenthood. I am warm and empathic and I offer a safe and non-judgemental environment for you to explore the issues you wish to, at your own speed. I firmly believe that feeling heard and understood by another can have a powerful effect and that through the building of a trusting and secure counselling relationship, a person in counselling can start to gain a new perspective on what's going on in their lives.
Coming to counselling can be daunting, whether for the first time or not, so we will take things at a pace you feel comfortable with.
When working face to face, I have two practices in different locations in South-East London. I hope to be back working face to face soon and will update this page as and when this is possible.
At the moment, I'm offering session over the phone or via Zoom and therefore can take on clients from anywhere in the country.
Currently, I have availability on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the day.
My first session
Once you've made initial contact with me, I suggest having a brief chat on the phone to get an idea of what you're looking to come to counselling for, and for you to ask any questions you may have.
During this call, we can set up an initial session that will take place either over the phone or online. This initial session will be a full length session of 50 minutes. This can be a good opportunity for you to get a feel of whether I might be the right counsellor for you. If we agree to continue working together after this, we will have weekly sessions on the same day at the same time.
The initial session is £35 and sessions are £55 after that.
