About me and my therapy practice
I recognise how difficult taking the first step towards seeking support can be and aim to create a safe, welcoming and confidential space in which you can begin your journey to receiving the support you need.
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe the relationship we create is key to supporting you to explore your experiences, process your emotions and develop the confidence and skills to make the changes you desire. I believe everyone has the potential for personal growth and change and feel that the counselling relationship allows you to unlock that potential. My non-judgmental and empathetic approach allows clients to build trust with me and share their experiences at a pace that is comfortable for them.
I have over 15 years experience working with people in helping and supportive roles and qualified as a counsellor in 2018. I am an experienced practitioner who is committed to ongoing training to ensure I can give the best to my clients.
Practice description
You may be feeling depressed or experiencing anxiety or perhaps a loss of direction or sense of purpose in your life. You may have experienced a significant event in your life such as a bereavement or relationship breakdown or you may be troubled by events in childhood that are affecting your ability to live your life the way you want to. I can offer a space for you to make sense of your experience and work towards a happier way of being.
I recognise that everyone is unique, some people simply need a space to be heard while others are seeking more structured support and tools and techniques to support them to make changes. I work in a way that is respectful of this and try to offer a range of different ways of working.
In addition to my initial training, I have experience of using the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy to help clients recognise how their thoughts and beliefs can influence their feelings and behaviours. I can help you to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and support you to challenge and change these.
I also have an interest in the benefits of creativity for mental well being and I am able to offer this in my counselling sessions if this is something that you are interested in. Working creatively can allow you to access and explore your emotions and experiences in a different way to simply talking about them. If you are someone who struggles to identify or verbalise your emotions, using creative tools may be a really helpful way to do this.

I currently offer supervision on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with occasional Fridays from a dedicated room in my home.
I also offer online and telephone supervision if required. I am available for daytime and evening sessions.
About me and my therapy practice
As a Person-Centred counsellor I have a strong belief in the power of the therapeutic relationship and have sought to incorporate this in to my supervision practice and supervisory relationships.
I offer a nurturing space to bring your client work where you can feel supported yet challenged. I feel really passionate about creating meaningful relationships with my supervisees where they can share openly about their client work and their own processes within this without a fear of judgement.
I believe supervision is a collaborative relationship and a place where you can explore not only your worries or challenges with your client work but also your successes. The work we do can be really demanding but also rewarding and I know how useful supervision is for me as a therapist as a place to reflect on everything I experience in my client work. I aim to offer this for my supervisees.
I work within the seven-eyed model of supervision which allows us to have a good overview of your client work, its impact on you and where you may want to strengthen your knowledge or skills.
Practice description
I have over 20 years’ experience in supporting people to make positive changes to their lives in a range of different settings. Prior to qualifying as a counsellor I have worked in inpatient mental health hospitals, community settings, police custody suites and prisons. I have had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life and really value diversity and how unique each individual is. I have worked in private practice for 5 years and also work for a GP practice one day a week so have a good understanding of working in a primary care/ NHS setting.
While I work with a range of presenting issues commonly anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and identity, I have a specialist knowledge and interest in addiction and creative interventions in therapy. Having worked in addiction services for over 15 years in previous roles and as a counsellor, I am able to share this knowledge with supervisees working in the field. I also have a sound understanding of neurodiversity and always aim to work in a neuro-inclusive way both with supervisees and counselling clients.
I have completed the theory element of my supervision training and am currently working towards my placement hours. As such I am offering low cost supervision at £20 per hour whilst I am in training.
