About me and my therapy practice
I am currently not taking on any new clients at this time.
Hi, my name is Anna Harlow and I am a qualified Counsellor and Registered member of the BACP. As an integrative Counsellor I have trained in more than one counselling style including Person-Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic and I believe this makes me more flexible in how we approach our work together, tailoring it to suit your needs.
I believe that expressing our inner thoughts and feelings in the company of someone who we trust and who truly hears us can help make sense of what we struggle to understand about ourselves. This increased understanding and self-awareness can allow us to make more informed choices about our lives and our relationships, offering greater freedom and new opportunities, but change can also be uncomfortable and sometimes unsettling.
As your counsellor I will be there to support you to explore any problems or concerns you have, no matter how big or small you think they are, in a safe and confidential environment where you set the pace. I can offer you the space to feel heard and valued, sharing my experience and knowledge with kindness and without judgement.
Practice description
Counselling sessions with me last for 50 minutes and cost £50 or a reduced rate of £30 for students.
I offer counselling in a number of different ways depending on your preference.
We can work:- online using Zoom
- by telephone
- face to face in a traditional room-based setting which has been adapted to have increased protection from Covid-19.
- outdoors with a Walk and Talk therapy service in our local green spaces.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for you to see how comfortable you feel talking to me and for us to explore your reasons for coming to counselling.
If it feels right for you, we can identify some goals or a direction that you would like to be going in and this can help focus our work together.
At the end of the first session we would discuss whether you want to book another session - you are under no obligation to do so as finding the right counsellor that you feel you can trust is important.
