About me and my therapy practice
I am an accredited member of the BACP providing counselling one to one with adults and young people.
Currently, due to the pandemic, I am offering secure online video and telephone sessions, alongside In Person sessions; adhering to the current Government Covid-19 Safe Practice Guidelines.
My training enables me to offer both short term and long term therapy depending on your needs.
In short term counselling, It helps to have a clear focus. I am qualified as a BPC accredited Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT) practitioner, which is a recommended treatment in the NHS for general anxiety and depression.
DIT specifically looks at our relationships with those around us. It is believed that when we are able to deal with relationship problems more effectively, our psychological symptoms tend to improve.
Talking through what is troubling you can help gain a better understanding of issues you face and to find suitable ways of coping.
My private practice is in a peaceful rural setting just outside Maidstone and provides a secure and confidential place for you to explore your problems and what brought you to consider trying counselling in the first place.
I am able to offer some evening and weekend sessions.
My first session
It is important to feel comfortable with your counsellor, so an initial session is very important. It is an opportunity to get a grasp of what is going on for you, so there will be questions I need to ask and I am sure you will have questions to ask in return. It is also my aim to convey how I work ethically, protect your confidentially and your data protection rights.
At the end of the first session, there is no obligation for you to continue if you feel it is not the right option for you. My fee for an initial session is £25.00.
