About me and my therapy practice

I am a registered counsellor working largely online but also in counselling rooms in Coulsdon and Croydon. I have counselled parents, staff and children in a school setting; worked with older people in a community counselling service; worked with university students; worked in a large counselling service. My clients range from children aged 8/ 9 up to adults aged 89. I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship breakdown, bereavement, health problems, and a whole variety of other problems.

I am hear to listen. How often do other people listen to you? Really listen? How often do you listen to yourself? I believe you hold all the answers you need to address what is happening in your life. Although it may not feel that way at the moment, you are the expert in you. Together, we can create a safe, non-judgemental, space for you to explore and make sense of your own story. It's a space where you can acknowledge difficult feelings, be silent, cry, laugh, share. We will talk about whatever is on your mind. Really hearing yourself can bring new understanding, self-compassion and answers.

Practice description

I work largely in a person-centred/ integrative way. I offer short-term (6-8 weeks) and long-term counselling. Weekly sessions last 50 minutes.

In our sessions you may want to discuss -

- situations you find difficult,

- relationships

- your childhood and other past experiences

- situations or emotions that worry you

- your mood or behaviour

- other issues

- changes you want to make.

We won't talk about anything you're not ready to talk about.

I work largely online but I have some face-to-face availability.

My first session

It's important that you should have a counsellor you can trust and feel comfortable with. It's also important that you should have a counsellor who feels they are qualified to deal with whatever it is that has brought you to counselling. To allow you to decide whether you would like to come into counselling with me, I offer an initial half hour telephone or online session free of charge.
