About me and my therapy practice
COVID-19 note 12th Jan 2021: Due to the latest restrictions, I have now moved face-to-face work from inside to outside - offering outdoor walking sessions on private parkland at Oakedge, on the north edge of Cannock Chase. I’m also offering online Zoom sessions for both individuals and couples. (Couple sessions will be online only)
Specialising in relationship counselling, with 20 years’ experience working for Relate, I offer couple and individual counselling in both indoor and outdoor settings. We can explore unhelpful feelings, thoughts and behaviours, using a range of different counselling models that best bring about the changes you want.
If you feel the need to improve your relationship, your wellbeing, and gain some relief from distress, please get in touch for a consultation to talk through what you would like to achieve and to see if you feel we could work together.
I often find people wonder if their own problems are somehow worthy or bad enough for them to indulge in counselling, maybe holding out for change or thinking that time will make things better on its own. My belief is that with a relatively brief focus on whatever is upsetting you - and maybe those around you - you can find relief, better ways of coping, or resolution.
I work from a converted shepherd’s hut on the edge of Cannock Chase in the grounds of Oakedge Park. This is a very natural site, overlooking pools and surrounded by a forest landscape, making a perfect base to work and walk from.
Walking therapy for some people is less intense, and reduces the sense of being ‘under the spotlight’ compared to a more traditional setting. The shepherd’s hut provides a space for our session whilst being surrounded by nature. It is also a base to walk from if you would like to do that. Alternatively we can arrange to walk from different parts of Cannock Chase or along the local canals, should you find that a more comfortable way to talk.
