About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor MBACP.
Starting therapy can be a huge step to take; stepping out into the unknown and exploring what is on your mind with someone you don’t know can be a scary proposition. How will it be? What do I bring? Will they judge me?
Whether this is your first time in therapy or you have decided to return, I am here to listen and support you.
I offer a safe, supportive, empathetic, and non-judgemental space to allow you to work through whatever you bring. More importantly, it gives you a space to be open and be yourself without worry.
Therapy is a journey of emotional discovery, and it is a lot easier and more comfortable when you know you will be seen, heard, and listened to.
I believe that you know yourself better than anyone else. I see it as my job to help you uncover parts of you that may be lost, hidden, or not in your awareness.
I am a trained Gestalt Counsellor. Gestalt therapy takes the approach of helping you to gain self-awareness of habitual patterns in your life and developing your self-awareness.
By developing awareness, you can understand how your thoughts and feelings influence your behaviours and relationships.
If you are willing to discuss your issues, look at alternate ways to explore them and prefer a more relational approach, then I may be a good fit for you.
In addition to my private practice, I have experience working with clients in the emergency services.
I have also previously volunteered for services specialising in therapy for clients from black, Asian and other minority backgrounds.
Practice description
I offer a free 20-minute consultation as it is important to let you know whether I am the right fit for you.
If we agree to undergo the first session, this will be an exploratory assessment session. This will allow us to get to know each other, giving you space to talk about the issues you want to focus on over the course of the therapy. If we agree to start working together, I will send my counselling agreement and intake form.
In this first session, whilst It will be your space to tell me as much or as little about why you are coming to counselling, there will be a series of questions I need to ask in regard to your risk, history, safety and current living situation.
My fee is £65 per session starting from the first session for both face-to-face and online.
