About me and my therapy practice

Life events can affect an individual in many ways. The impact touches many areas of your life. Feelings of fear, low self-esteem and worry can be quite exhausting. Feeling trapped, unsure which way to turn. Entrusting an individual with your intimate emotions can place fear of being judged for experiencing mental health issues. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to read through my profile and be assured that I will endeavour to work with you in the best way possible.

Making those first steps can be quite daunting when seeking support through counselling. Once you take those first steps you embark upon a journey of self-exploration in empowering yourself. Facing new challenges with confidence and strength. Building positive steps towards relationships, work and daily routines. We all must take leap of faith in building healthy boundaries. We will find new approaches to test what works for you.

Through my approach as a Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist, together, we will explore the triggers that have left you feeling dis-empowered. We will talk through your issues. I will actively listen whilst taking the journey with you by your side. The Respect I hold for you is genuine. Non judgement or prejudice. This allows you the space in a confidential environment to explore the many emotions you are experiencing.

Some of the issues that I have experience helping with are depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, childhood abuse, loss of identity, low self esteem and suicidal thoughts.

My first session

What to expect through my practice:

After you have made your first contact, I endeavor to reply within 24 hours to confirm that I have received your enquiry. I will then contact you whether by call or email whichever is comfortable for you. Here we can make the first appointment and for you to ask any questions that you are unsure about on what takes place within the therapeutic session.

In the initial part of the first session, if you are comfortable, I would like to go over the contract. This will be to ensure that you are safeguarded and happy with the sessions to commence. The contract covers confidentiality, data protection, privacy policy and complaints procedure. A copy can be email or mailed to you so that you are able to look over it at any time. However, at anytime after the first session if you would like to go over them again, I am happy to do so. The rest of the hour will be guided by you and what you would like to bring. We can then agree on the length and frequency of when the sessions take place.
