About me and my therapy practice

I’m an integrative therapist, a counselling lecturer at NWSLC College, and offer online & in-person relational supervision with warm support, humour, and gentle challenge.

Practice description

I am a graduate of the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and have practiced as an integrative therapist for more than 4 years. Since February 2021 I have also been a lecturer in counselling at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire college.

My training is in a developmental relational model that combines theoretical perspectives from various counselling and psychotherapy schools with an aim to provide the best support that I am able to give; my integration includes concepts from Person Centred Theory, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Object Relations, Attachment Theory, and Self-Psychology.

Through supervision, I can help you to explore a range of issues related to your clients, your practice and your development. I believe in creating a warm relational environment where you feel safely supported to explore the good and less good parts of your practice.

Types of therapy

Gestalt, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Relational, Transactional analysis

Clients I work with

Adults, Trainees, Young people

How I deliver therapy

About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Nick and Canta Therapy is my therapy practice.

Sometimes life is difficult, and we can feel like we just don’t have what we need to take on the challenges we are facing. While feeling not OK is increasingly normal, I don’t think it is OK and therapy is one way to help you through feeling not OK and back into OK.

Talking to a trained and caring person can help you find your way through your difficulties into a calmer and easier space, where you can find compassion for yourself and a path to personal growth and change.

I want to offer you a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship where we can work together to explore what is troubling you, better understand your experiences and difficulties, and help you achieve a more satisfying life. Some of those experiences might be recent difficulties, some of them may be from you past, but my aim is stay at your side through that journey wherever it takes us because every journey is a little easier when made alongside a caring and supportive fellow traveller.

Practice description

Whatever it is that is making you feel not OK: anxiety, depression, stress, fear, trauma, work or relationship problems, childhood issues or anything else, we can talk about it and start to reduce the influence that has over your life today.

Making the decision to look for a therapist is often difficult, sometimes it is the hardest thing to do, and I know that for many of my clients it can take a lot of bravery and emotional resources to take that first step. If you do get in touch, I will try to make the process as easy as I can. I will always aim to respond to emails, texts and voicemails with 48 hours and if you do not hear back from me within that time, please check you junk mail folder as sometimes emails can end up there and feel free to make contact again. Our first step together will be to arrange for a meeting, so you check out if I am the right person for you and if I am able to offer what you need. I will also send you my therapy working agreement to give you a better idea of what to expect in therapy with me.

My first session

Our work will be based in conversations focussed on your feelings and needs. Together we will create a relaxed, safe and confidential relationship for you to share and explore your feelings in.

Before deciding to work together, we will have an initial assessment meeting where we can discuss what you want to get out of therapy and you can gain some insight into what it would be like to work with me.
