About me and my therapy practice

Hi, thank you for clicking on my profile,

I am an experienced psychotherapist offering psychotherapy and supervision. I bring a unique blend of expertise in the Gottman Method, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and Narcissistic Abuse Recovery.

I have extensive experience working with clients in or recovering from narcissistic abuse, including development of programs and initiatives with a leading charity in the North West affording me insight into trauma and resilience. I assist my supervisee’s by providing a nuanced understanding of issues surrounding narcissistic abuse, which is an incredibly important and challenging area of work, as it requires a deep understanding of both psychological dynamics and practical strategies. I assist supervises to empower their clients, navigate their relationships especially in the context of co-parenting.

Additionally in my private practice, I specialise in helping couples through the complexities of their relationships. I am skilled in guiding couples through a myriad of difficulties to foster stronger, healthier connections. Utilising both the Gottman Method and RLT, I provide collaborative, strengths-based supervision designed to foster clinical growth and competence. My approach empowers therapists to navigate the intricacies of relational therapy, and to support their clients in achieving meaningful and lasting change. By utilising my knowledge and experience I work with my supervisee's to develop a strong focus on both clinical skills and the dynamics of relational therapy.

Practice description

My supervision style is collaborative and strength-based, aimed at fostering clinical growth and competence which is both challenging and nuturing. I am passionate about empowering therapists to navigate the intricacies of relational therapy and support their clients in achieving meaningful and lasting change.

To facilitate this aim I provide a supportive environment to ensure trust and congruence is promoted in the process. By doing so creates a relaxed and authentic space in which our work can be celebrated and inspire passion.

I am happy to offer a free consultation to discuss how my supervision can support your professional development. If you would like further information, please feel free to reach out, and we can explore how we can work together to enhance your clinical skills and improve client outcomes. I am currently able to offer discount to training counsellors.

My first session

The goal in our first session together is to start to build trust, clarify expectations, and establish a productive supervisory relationship.

This will start by ensuring you feel comfortable, to talk and I can let you know about my experience, qualifications.

I shall run through purpose of the sessions with emphasis on a collaborative and developmental process.

I will discuss confidentiality, ethical guidelines, and the limits of confidentiality, additionally I will share my style of supervision so that you know what to expect.

It is also important that we clarify mutual expectations, to that end I will ask about your goals for supervision, any areas of concern, and what you hope to gain. Whilst also sharing my own expectations for your engagement, growth, and professionalism.

I will send you the supervisor contract ahead of time via email, which will give you time to have a look and ask any questions. This includes the logistics such as scheduling, cancellation policies, and any administrative details.

Then we will move on to your casework, I will ask you to share the types of clients that you are working with and if there are any particular challenges that you would like to address. Which we can look around together.

Throughout the session I encourage you to ask questions, express any concerns, and emphasise that supervision is a space for mutual learning.

As we draw to a close we shall establish a plan for future sessions and I will invite you to suggest (if required) any topics you may like to talk about during the next session.

We will then always end of a positive note where I offer encouragement and affirmation, especially you have expressed doubts or concerns about your abilities during the session.
