About me and my therapy practice
Coaching
Whether addressing life challenges, career development or nurturing current professional relationships, coaching can tap into the resources you already have, in order to achieve your goals and ambitions.
Coaching is a collaborative experience that stimulates thought and interest around the themes and agendas that you have chosen to explore. Coaching centres around change and action, addressing you as a whole: the past, present and future of your work and personal life.
Combining my coaching training and psychology background, I provide a comprehensive experience based on apt questioning, respectful challenge and support, all in a comfortable and confidential environment.
I offer coaching for personal or work-related challenges to adult individuals, groups and organisations.
I am a professional member of EMCC Global (European Mentoring & Coaching Council) and abide by their Global Code of Ethics.
About me
The first twenty years of my career were spent as a professional musician working internationally amongst a creative and diverse range of people. It was a fascinating and fulfilling period of my life.
My interest in mental health and well being comes largely from a rich tapestry of personal experience that eventually led to my pursuing a long standing interest in psychotherapy and coaching for individuals, groups and organisations interested in both personal and professional development.

During our call you can ask me any questions, we will discuss your aims and expectations in greater detail and set a basic agenda if you decide to work with me. If at the end of our discussion you are uncertain about working together, there is no obligation to return.

About me and my therapy practice
My therapy practice
Sometimes painful memories, strong feelings and intrusive thoughts become too overwhelming to manage. When this happens, it is not unusual to feel anxious, panic-stricken, low in mood or just aware that something isn't right. You may be asking yourself "what's happening to me," and when there appears to be no answer, this can feel uncomfortable, destabilising and frightening; or you may feel that a specific event, such as a bereavement, the end of a relationship or a traumatic experience has made life feel more of a struggle and less enjoyable. Talking to someone about your issues takes courage and I offer a safe, confidential space to do this. You can talk openly about how you’re feeling and you will be heard without fear of being criticised or judged.
After gaining an honours degree in psychology, I worked for the NHS in a psychology & challenging needs service before completing a PG Dip in psychodynamic therapeutic counselling and MSc in clinical psychotherapy.
I describe my approach as integrative because my training covered the theoretical, philosophical and clinical convictions of psychoanalytic, cognitive behavioural (CBT) and systems therapy.
I hold a COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) Advanced Certificate in relationship therapy and am currently a group facilitator for the Post Graduate Diploma programme in psychodynamic therapeutic counselling at the University of Brighton.

My first session
In our first session you’ll have an opportunity to talk about your feelings, discuss your needs and get to know me and how I work. First sessions also allow practitioners to better understand their client's situation and to assess their suitability for working together. Whether therapy lasts a short time, or for a longer period, a good working relationship between therapist and client is imperative and you’re under no obligation to return after our first session. Please note I charge for all sessions.
