About me and my therapy practice
I deeply believe in the importance of supervision, and the power it has to offer opportunities to reflect on the therapeutic relationships we have with our clients. I work with the Seven Eyed Model and the Relational Matrix Model, both of which place emphasis working relationally and collaboratively.
I am a BACP accredited counsellor, having graduated from the University of Brighton with a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Person Centred Counselling in 2007 (this level 7 qualification has since evolved into the PGDip in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy) . I have worked in a number of settlings including a hospice, GP surgery, a university counselling service and, since 2018, in private practice.
I have been supervising since 2020 after completing a Diploma with the Link Centre. I am currently completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Relational Supervision with Relational Change.
As well as providing private supervision, I have also worked with the wellbeing teams of a group of local colleges.
Practice description
My theoretical orientation is primarily Person Centred but I consider myself integrative and have a lot of experience and training in other modalities – including Psychodynamic, TA, CBT and Solution Focused Therapy.
For me, supervision is essential in supporting a therapist in their work, in terms of self-care and professional development and, of course, holding the clients at the heart of the work and working ethically. I see it as a co-created and relational undertaking, in which the supervisor and the therapist are working collaboratively in the service of our clients. Working relationally offers a way for us to work creatively in the moment with whatever emerges, bringing clarity and insight and supporting new ways of working.
At the start of our work together, we will have the opportunity to carefully contract together around what our sessions will provide and this will also include a chance to ensure that I can meet the requirements, both ethical and practical, of the professional body that you adhere to.
I offer a free 30-minute in-person or zoom meeting so we can meet, consider your requirements and expectations of Supervision and see whether we could work well together. If we decide to work together I charge £82 for 1.5 hour supervision.
We can meet at my practice in Chichester or online on zoom. My practice is in a peaceful and private setting with ample parking. If we meet online, this offers an alternative way to access a supervisor out of your area, whilst also saving time and money on travel.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced BACP-accredited and registered counsellor with over 19 years’ experience of providing counselling and psychotherapy to young adults (18+), adults and older adults.
You don’t have to be in crisis to have therapy and it may simply feel as though life is not quite right, without being sure of the reason why. Most people experience times when they feel low, anxious or depressed.
It can be rare to have the experience of really being listened to in day-to-day life but with the right therapist, counselling can provide this in a way that is transformative. The quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the key factors in successful therapy and I provide a warm, supportive and empathic approach that puts you at the heart of the work. The counselling session offers time and space for you, where nothing is expected of you except a willingness to being present.
I am able to offer short or long-term work depending on your needs. People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons, and whatever you wish to talk about I will work with you to support you in developing a better understanding of yourself and finding the right way forward for you.
As well as my original training, I continue to develop my skills and practice and some of my recent additional training includes:
- Trauma focused therapy (Mark Widdowson)
- Online Therapy (zoom, email, telephone with the Online Therapy Institute)
- CBT foundations (Adrian Hemmings)
- Introduction to Jungian concepts
- Compassion focused training (Paul Gilbert)
- Solution focussed approaches to counselling (Brief Therapy Institute)
If any of this sounds interesting and if you feel I might be a good fit for you, please feel welcome to contact me, without obligation, by telephone, text or email.
Practice description
I set up in private practice in 2018. Sessions are held at my counselling room on the outskirts of Chichester or online via video link (Zoom), depending on your needs and preference. My counselling room is in a private and peaceful setting and there is ample space for parking.
I originally trained as a Person-Centred Counsellor at Brighton University but consider myself an integrative therapist, incorporating other approaches and techniques in my work. I started my first counsellor training in 2004.
Prior to setting up in private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in a number of settings:
• Student Counsellor at Portsmouth University
• Chichester Counselling – a charity offering low cost counselling to the local community
• Your Space – provision of counselling in schools (working with 9-14 year olds) across West Sussex
• St Peter and St James Hospice near Haywards Heath
• Mileoak GP Surgery and Hove Polyclinic, both in Hove
Apart from my private practice, I currently also work as a clinical supervisor.
My first session
Prior to our first full session together, I suggest we either have a 20-30 minute conversation (in-person, on zoom or on the telephone) to see if we feel like a good match. This is offered free of charge.
Our first full session is then a chance to get to know each more and explore what you are looking for from therapy, as well as how we can best work towards this together.
It is important that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with and after our first session I would encourage you to take some time to think about whether I am the right therapist for you.
