About me and my therapy practice

Working as a supervisor I aim to create a space for individuals to be reflective of their work /caseload and to gain another perspective, offering another pair of eyes. Exploring such areas as; different ways of working with challenging individuals, transference, confrontation, anger, frustration.

I also work with organisations and charities offering their staff Organisational Supervision. I offer a space for staff to reflect on their working relationships and workload. Exploring topics such as; management styles, coping strategies, boundaries, frustrations, resistance.

Supervision space is not personal therapy but sometimes individuals need the space to discuss person issues from time to time.

Which professions usually seek supervision ?

I have worked with a wide range of professionals such as; teachers, support workers, mental health practitioners, counsellors, supervisors, Ceo, managers, Director.

Practice description

I am a fully qualified accredited integrative counsellor / therapist with the National Counselling Society and a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have been in private practice since 2013 supporting individuals and groups. My theoretical approach is integrative and is with a firm base of person centred whilst informed by Gestalt and Psycho Dynamic theory.

I am originally from Ireland and I have been living here in the UK since 2002. I have travelled a lot in past and lived in different countries which has given me perspective on various cultures. I come from an arts background where I studied graphic design and illustration.

Alongside my private practice I work at the University of the West of England as an associate lecturer on the MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy course. I previously worked as Ceo at Kinergy managing a team of 27 counsellors and 8 staff. Kinergy is a counselling agency that supports survivors of sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified accredited integrative counsellor / therapist with the National Counselling Society and a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I have been in private practice since 2013 supporting individuals and groups. My approach is based on respect and care for the client.

This creative edge sometimes supports me in the counselling room where clients might not be able to describe traumas / distress / anxieties into words.

I have worked in private practice since 2013 and I am a registered accredited counsellor with the National counselling society and a member of the BACP.  I regularly work with clients experiencing stress, anxiety or depression. I offer both short and long term counselling for individuals. I use a relational approach as I believe that our relationships are important in the development of oneself, especially those relationships we form in early childhood.

Practice description

There are times when we all need help with life's challenges. I can offer you a space to reflect and think in the hope that this will lead to better understanding, self-awareness and change. A lot of people I see have a feeling of getting stuck or going round in circles. Often immersed in difficult feelings including anxiety, stress, anger or depression. Counselling can be that space where concerns, difficulties and fears, can be explored and shared. An opportunity to unpick, uncover and repair issues/concerns.
