About me and my therapy practice

ONLINE COUNSELLING

As an online counsellor I have experience of working on different platforms, offering counselling sessions via telephone, video and email. Often in a brief and integrative way. With my training in Person-centred and Existential counselling, I aim to offer a gentle and client-led space drawing from multiple modalities, such as - if we feel the need for a more direct and solution-focused approach, or by practising some CBT techniques, we can explore these together and bring them into our work.

Depending on the type and length of therapy you are looking for, or may require, to work on reaching your goal/s, I will work alongside you, at your speed and try to support you in your journey. I can therefore offer a more flexible approach to your sessions and our way of working.

Remote therapy can be useful with time management as there is no need to travel to and from sessions, reducing potential anxiety over finding a certain location, parking or fitting it into a busy schedule. As long as you are in a private and confidential space, this allows you to have your session at home (or work) and be comfortable in your own surroundings.

I also have experience of working within EAP’s in different areas, offering a range of services and have developed good knowledge and skills in delivering short to medium term therapies such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Psychological First Aid.

I have a good understanding and experience of working within different industries and business needs. The pressures of having to balance a working and family life, anxiety and stress, loss and grief etc and even though I have lots of personal experience with a range of different issues I will not compare or use these to detract from you and your experience - I will draw on my empathy and gain understanding of what the issues are for you and what you decide to bring and work on and we will concentrate on you alone.

Practice description

I work with clients in a gentle, kind and compassionate way, usually non-directive and client-led, although I have found that exploring options and looking for solutions can be really helpful when and where appropriate. Therefore I can be flexible in my approach as well as with session frequency and structure, as I understand that work/life commitments can sometimes get in the way.

My first session

Please do get in touch if you would like to have an initial chat and/or complete a short assessment with me on the phone, prior to making the decision of having therapy. As it is imperative that you feel connected and comfortable to make good progress. Therefore an initial assessment call/chat would be free with no pressure from me, to go ahead with sessions.
