Availability

I work Monday to Thursdays in the afternoon and early evening.

I usually keep 1 or 2 spaces available for new clients, so let me know your availability when you contact me and I'll see what I can do.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with people who feel stuck, are in distress or need support.

As your counsellor I will do my utmost to offer you a safe place so that you can talk about what’s troubling you.  Being heard in this way is rare in life and in itself can lead to positive change.

Entering counselling is an act of courage but you will not be doing this alone; I will support you.  Talking about how you feel can be difficult but I will help you find a way through what you are feeling.

You will be encouraged to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others. You may be offered information, but you will not be told what you should think or do.

The process will help you to find your own solutions – whether that is making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with how you feel.

Practice description

I am a warm and empathic counsellor and I work hard to provide a good standard of care and facilitate respectful working relationships. I will not judge what you disclose about yourself, your attitudes or behaviours.

Having been trained in the Humanistic Approach to counselling, I work in a client-centred way, incorporating ideas from approaches such as Existential Psychotherapy and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy.

As well as my private practice, I have experience of working with clients in a variety of settings including Further Education, GP surgeries, IAPT providers, Employee Assistance Programmes and a Community Counselling Service.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for you to tell me about what is troubling you, and for us to get to know each other. You can ask me questions about the way forward and, together, we will start to identify challenges you would like to focus on during therapy.
