About me and my therapy practice

Hello. I wonder what has led you to seek out a counsellor? Are you or someone you love having a hard time with upsetting or traumatic experiences? This might be something that you are living with now or something from your past. Perhaps you are experiencing difficult thoughts and feelings and everything feels overwhelming at the moment?

If life is making you feel sad, anxious or depressed and you’ve reached the point where having someone to listen would help, then I would like to invite you to come along for some counselling. Having therapy can be the first step in making positive changes to your life, resulting in a happier you. No problem is too small or silly if it is having a negative impact on your well being. Your story is important. I will listen, ask questions, and try to understand how your experiences are affecting your life. Feeling heard can really reduce your stress levels and make you feel lighter. It’s so much easier to face difficulties when you feel calm.

Parents as individuals or couples - I can help with your family struggles. Maybe your child’s behaviour or feelings of overwhelm are causing real difficulties at home or at school and you are feeling unsupported or misunderstood. I believe that you as parents are your child's best expert and with my support we can explore ways to restore some harmony. I have lots of tried and tested therapeutic strategies that could help you manage the challenges you are facing, whether that's with your child, each other, the school or maybe a service provider.

As well as being a qualified therapist of 14 years, I am also a therapeutic foster parent, caring for teens. I have made it my mission to learn about trauma and how it affects us in a bid to understand myself, my reactions and the children I have cared for. I have done lots of training around the affects of childhood trauma/complex trauma and PTSD and have a Diploma in Therapeutic Parenting.

You can email me or call using the enquiry form.

Practice description

I work one to one with clients aged 13 and upwards with various issues. Come and meet me for an assessment and we can work out if I am the right person for you.

I also work with parents or couples that are raising children who struggle with their emotions and behavior.

I offer counselling from the comfort of my home on Hayling Island. There is parking on my driveway and free parking in the car park opposite. I am on a bus route from local areas.

My first session

I offer all new clients a free 30 minute  face to face assessment. This gives you the opportunity to tell me a little about what is going on for you and what your hopes are for counselling. I will also take some practical information. The assessment will also give us a chance to decide if I am the right person for you and ensure you are comfortable and happy in my environment.
