About me and my therapy practice

Struggling with a whirlwind of emotions like overwhelm, exhaustion, and loneliness? Or perhaps you're a parent witnessing your child struggle with self-harm, sadness, anxiety, low motivation, low self-esteem, stress, trauma, or struggles related to Autism or ADHD diagnosis or traits? I'm here to lend an empathetic ear and guide you through these storms.

With over 17 years of experience, I've worked with over 3000 children and adolescents, supporting their mental health needs. My expertise includes working within the NHS, particularly in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), where I've conducted individual and group therapy sessions. Let's explore healthy coping techniques and emotional regulation together. Healthy coping strategies teach you to handle tough feelings and situations, providing you with tools to feel better when things get rough. Whereas, emotional regulation techniques prevent feelings from overwhelming you. Think of it as having a remote control for your emotions, allowing you to adjust the volume when things get too loud.

My specialty also includes expats therapy, where I understand firsthand the complexities of immigrant life, having lived abroad in the UK for 8 years. The emotional and mental toll of leaving one's home country can be overwhelming. If you're an immigrant or expat still adjusting to a new place, new country, and new people, I empathise with your journey. Having started afresh in the UK myself 8 years ago, I've experienced the challenges of cultural adjustment in a new environment.

As your therapist, I create a safe and confidential space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings together. I believe in customising therapy to suit your unique needs, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. While drawing from various therapeutic techniques, I specialise in two methods: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

In our sessions, conducted exclusively online via  Zoom, I create a non-judgmental environment where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions. Drawing from a diverse toolkit of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, I tailor personalised treatment plans to address a wide range of concerns.

My training, enriched by evidence-based programs in the UK, ensures seamless integration of therapeutic modalities that cater to issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, anger, relationship concerns, and personal growth objectives. Whether you're seeking support with anxiety disorders, depression, personality disorders, anger management, or navigating relationship challenges, my practice offers a comprehensive range of services designed to meet your needs across the lifespan.

I understand that first sessions and online sessions can be overwhelming; but I am here to support you and make you feel comfortable.

Our session begins with a simple yet profound intention: to get to know you better. Your story matters, and I'm here to listen with empathy and understanding. Through our conversation, we'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, creating a safe and trusting environment where you can freely express yourself. You don’t have to feel pressured to share everything or talk a lot in your first session; you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Feel free to ask me questions too, and I will do my best to help you understand everything.

This initial communication helps us determine if we're the right fit for each other on this therapeutic journey. Your comfort and trust in me are paramount, and I'm committed to ensuring that you feel heard, respected, and supported throughout our time together.

In addition to getting to know you better, our first session includes a comprehensive mental health and risk assessment. This assessment allows me to gather valuable information about your concerns, providing a deeper understanding of the right therapeutic approachtosuit your needs. If there are any moderate to severe risks that I won't be able to manage independently, I will explain that clearly to you and refer you to the relevant professional.
