About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced Psychodynamic therapist, offering counselling and psychotherapy to adults, young adults and trainees. I believe in providing a warm, non-judgemental environment in which to help clients make sense of their stories and gain a deeper understanding of their unconscious selves.
Throughout my professional journey, I've fostered a sincere commitment to nurturing and guiding individuals through life's challenges, aiding them in cultivating positive mindsets and discovering their inner voices. During my career in Financial Services managing large teams of people, I observed the impact of work-related stress on employees and offered valuable advice and support. Motivated by these experiences, I embarked on the path to becoming a professional Psychodynamic counsellor, undergoing extensive training and acquiring invaluable expertise over the last ten years, working both privately and in the charity sector.
Practice description
Together, we will explore and make sense of emotions and behaviours. We'll delve into how self-beliefs and perceptions of life influence the choices we make, impacting our relationships with both ourselves and others. Our journey will involve examining how thoughts, feelings (or their absence), and behaviours may sometimes work against each other in unhelpful ways.My first session
Before our comprehensive assessment session, I offer a complimentary 20-minute telephone consultation, providing an opportunity to address any questions you may have about my practice.
The assessment session, lasting one hour, is an occasion for me to gather a brief history, discuss your challenges, and understand the changes you aspire to make. Life often presents us with a multitude of challenges—understanding past experiences, navigating current situations, and planning for the future, all concurrently.
For you, the first session serves as an introduction to how therapy can support this multifaceted process. Whether you come with a list of questions or simply as you are, both approaches are equally valued. By the end of our initial time together, my aim is for you to discern whether you would like to continue our therapeutic journey.
Subsequent sessions, each lasting 50 minutes, will be scheduled for a set day and time weekly.
