About me and my therapy practice

Is your past affecting your future?

I am an experienced psychodynamic counsellor, meaning I work to help people understand their past and how it can affect their future. I listen deeply, and place value on communications from the unconscious mind. This can be very helpful when people experience deep rooted issues such as anxiety, depression, recurring patterns or issues in their lives, which feel hard to shift or change.

My therapy room is a safe, confidential space where people can explore problems, questions and decisions about their lives.  I can help people with a wide range of human difficulties.

Therapeutic space is an opportunity for relief from external demands, pressures and instant answers or solutions. It is a gentle process of deep thought and understanding.

I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and how this can, over time, empower people to find their own answers. I am patient, calm and very able to sit with people when they are feeling stuck, unsure or in a dark place. By tolerating the mess of life, together we are able to find new ways to think about it.

I have an interest in working with dreams, they can contain powerful and important messages from our unconscious minds.  Sometimes unsettling or disturbing and sometimes comforting and pleasant, I think dreams are always worth our waking attention.

I am involved in training Counsellors and work as the Diploma Course Lead and Theory Seminar Lead for a local Psychotherapy Organisation. I am very passionate about my work and enjoy being able to inspire the next generation of Counsellors.

My room is comfortable and warm. There are toilets which are easily accessible and a waiting area should you arrive early.
