About me and my therapy practice
At times we have the intuition that have become two persons in opposition to one another. This conflict may be between a part of ourselves that wants to move forward on and another one that is holding us back.
I offer you a supportive relationship that you can use to give those two parts a voice without judgement, and explore ways to reach a reconciliation.
I have experience and I am intersested in different issues, including:
Loss, depression, anxiety, bereavement, death anxiety, search of meaning, feelings of emptiness, being stuck, low self-esteem, loneliness, abortion or miscarriage.
In my practice I have worked closely with problems around loss. This could be of a loved one, a job, a relationship or something else irreplaceable. I also have experience of the challenges faced by people arriving in the UK for the first time, and how this can trigger a sense of alienation and loss of family and friends.
I am bilingual and can offer sessions in English and Spanish
I think that creativity and use of the imagination are ideal channels for reconnecting with our unconscious side and bringing more parts of ourselves to our awareness, for that reason I am also very interested in the exploration of dreams.
I am currently working face to face in a warm and welcoming room half a minute walk from Herne Hill station. I also use platforms such as Zoom, Teams and FaceTime or can work over the phone, if that seems a better option for you. It is important that you find a medium that you feel comfortable with.
I charge £60 per face to face session and £50 for online and phone sessions.
I offer an initial FREE 30 minutes online or phone session where we can discuss your specific needs and you can evaluate how it would feel working with me.
If there is any further information I can provide about me or my way of working, please let me know. I will be happy to answer.
Practice description
I like to explore right from the beginning your hopes and expectation for therapy and the way you think you want to work.
As an integrative counsellor I believe that no single approach can serve each client in all situations because each person is unique. In my work I always strive to adapt to the client’s needs and expectations as much as possible. I think there are many ways in which human experience can be explored and understood and perhaps no theory alone holds all the answers.
At the core of my integrative approach there is a person-centred (or non-directive) attitude, meaning fundamentally that I believe that only you know how your experience is perceived and that I must respect and support your right to decide what is right for you.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and to talk about the reasons that brought you to counselling, your hopes and expectations. You may want to use this time to have a feeling of the space, the relationship, and to ask any questions about me and my work.
This session is exploratory for both of us: It is both an opportunity for you to develop opinions about me, and for me to decide if it would be appropriate to work with you.
I always offer a free 30 minutes online or phone session, where we can cover all these matters.
