I work in Mansfield on a Monday only
About me and my therapy practice
I help adult children of emotionally immature and narcissistic parents to move forward with courage and certainty, and reconnect with themselves and enjoy the freedom they deserve.
As an Integrative Psychotherapist. I do not use labels or diagnose mental health issues or illnesses. I am here to support you to heal and grow.
I have extensive training in treating trauma. Especially around the area of relational and developmental trauma, due to the client group I work with.
Unresolved trauma from our childhood affects us deeply, throughout our lives. It not only affects how we think and feel, but it also affects our relationships, our sense of self, how we parent our own children, and our outlook on the world.
You may not recognise it as relational trauma, but rather be looking for relief from the symptoms which may include unhealthy and addictive or obsessive behaviours, anxiety, depression, perfectionism and self sabotage, people pleasing, and low self esteem.
You may also be feeling
Confused - The experience of gaslighting can leave you doubting yourself and your reality.
Like you are going crazy - As you would have been manipulated to believe its all in your head.
Lacking in Self-Esteem - As the narcissist would have made sure they destroyed your self esteem and confidence.
Not Good Enough - From the constant put downs and criticism.
How can I help?
My style of mind-body integrative Psychotherapy can help you to;
Build resilience
Improve your sense of self and autonomy
Make better decisions for yourself,
Have greater self-worth
Be more connected to yourself and others
Increased confidence and self esteem.
Create healthier, more loving relationships with self and others.
If you are looking for support to end a relationship or to go no contact, I can help you to feel confident it that decision. It won't be easy at times but it will be worth it.
I accept enquiries by email only.
Practice description
I offer therapy sessions online, by telephone or in person.
I work from The Magnolia Therapy Centre at Mapperley Park, Nottingham. It is a lovely space for therapy. There are around 10 therapy rooms, a waiting area with receptionist, with toilets and parking.
I also practice from Ransom Wood Business Park at Rainworth, Mansfield NG21 0HJ. It comprises a series of building within a relaxing wooded area, with a cafe and nice walks.
I can offer a free 15 minute introductory chat if you wish. This is a space for you to see if you think I would be the right therapist for you. Its time for you to ask any questions about me or the therapy I offer, and for us to arrange a convenient time and location if you wish to proceed.
I offer weekly or fortnightly sessions and block booking discounts and packages. Please see my website for more details on this.
I offer a you a non-judgmental and empathic listening ear and will use my expertise and experience to support and guide you to a place where you feel more able to manage your emotions, thoughts and behaviours
Our work together may be short or long term. That is really down to you and how committed you may be to the process. Short term therapy would be around 12 sessions, while long term could be up to a year or more.
At the end of the day, it is your therapy so your choice as to how long you continue in therapy. I can only advise of my thoughts on that, as I will obviously be committed to your healing and wellness. As I hope you will be too.
My first session
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other better. It is a time for me to gather information as to the issues we are working with, where you are now, what your goals for the future are and how you will know that therapy has been successful for you.
It is an opportunity for you to let it all out and for me to listen and to understand how I can help you. It is also time for you to assess whether you feel that I am the therapist that you wish to work with. I may go through some assessment forms initially so I can get an idea of how your presenting issues are affecting your day to day life. We will then discuss the goals of therapy and our contract and boundaries.
