Availability

Hello and a warm welcome to my practice. Please get in touch to discuss availability.

About me and my therapy practice

I have over 3000 hours of counselling experience with children and young people helping them to overcome an extensive range of problems.

In my sessions I specialise in using creative arts and play as well as talking therapy to make the sessions as comfortable, fun and productive for the child or young person as possible. The relationship is crucial in achieving therapeutic progress and my warm and non-judgmental approach is a key factor in establishing trust with clients. I ensure the client feels safe to open up about their worries and problems, and I will always work with them at their own pace.

I am an Integrative Therapist, meaning I am trained in a range of theoretical approaches and will tailor my approach based on the individual child, rather than a blanket approach.

Previously I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, bereavement services and domestic violence charities as well as most recently working in a private paediatric practise in London.

Before training as a therapist I worked in the charity sector working for children’s charities such as the NSPCC, Save the Children and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

My first session

The initial session will be to introduce what therapy is to the child or young person, and to begin to explore what issues they are facing. I will set out our confidentiality agreement and how we will work together going forward. This session is also, importantly, to make sure that the child or young person feels comfortable working with me as a therapist is and therefore happy to continue our sessions together.
