I work online via zoom, via the telephone and face to face outdoors.

I typically hold sessions on a Monday, available from 8am.

Therapy indoors, sat still, isn’t for everyone and so I offer therapy outdoors for those who find being in the fresh air helpful or a convenient mini 'green break' away from the computer screen or office.

Depending on mobility needs and energy levels therapy can be held sitting or walking (either stomping or strolling as mood takes you). Different locations are available and can be discussed and agreed upon.

I work in all weather (unless there are weather warnings against), but that doesn’t mean you have to. We can be flexible and utilise a hybrid model of outdoor and online sessions, working season by season, session by session.

First sessions are always held online. 

About me and my therapy practice

A qualified and BACP accredited NHS psychological therapist, I have experience working with a variety of difficulties both in NHS settings and in private practice. This includes anxiety, depression, loss, low self esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties and burnout.

Working therapeutically online has lots of benefits and can allow you to work therapy around a busy schedule, whilst also ensure you work with your chosen therapist, wherever they may be.

With a particular research interest in the therapeutic benefits of nature, I can help you draw on this when working online and can weave this into our work should you be interested.

If you feel you would like to work outdoors however, then I offer this too. 

I am also a visiting lecturer at the University of South Wales (USW) in the Therapeutic Studies department and am experienced in facilitating and supporting reflective practice and personal development. I therefore offer personal therapy and support to counsellors and psychotherapists in training. 

Practice description

Keenly aware of the effects of stress and the impact everyday pressures can have on our lives, I draw on and use recommended approaches and techniques to help you manage this. As we are always growing and learning, so is the latest research in mental health and being well. I pay great effort in keeping up to date with new  routes to easing distress, and will share these with you if helpful.

Difficult relationships, experiences or events can all affect us in very understandable ways. Working together, we will gain insight and understanding as to what those reasons are and consider options for change. This may lead to a greater sense of feeling more like ‘you’, feeling more in control and living life as you wish to.

What this means in practice is that I will listen carefully to what brought you to therapy, exploring with you your thoughts and feelings and what you have been through and are going through at present. We may consider patterns of behaviour that are helpful or unhelpful and consider your strengths and how you have been managing to cope through the difficulty. 

Working together, collaboratively, we will work towards greater clarity, an easing of difficulty and make steps towards change.



My first session

Beginning therapy can be a difficult first step, it can feel scary and you may feel unsure about where to start and what might be helpful.

I offer a free 15 min initial conversation, so that we can discuss your areas of concern and what you would like support on. Should you wish, we can then book in your first online session.

Sessions are 50 mins each in length.

Within the first session I’ll typically ask more focused questions to inform therapy and ensure a holistic picture of how you are at present. This may include questions regarding sleep, mood, appetite, current support systems and how you are feeling. As a psychological therapist I do not (and can not) diagnose, however, I always keep in mind your safety and will discuss with you where appropriate about how we get extra support should I feel that be needed. Confidentiality is central and I will talk to you about this in more detail.

We will also discuss what you would like therapy to focus on. We will consider whether short term (typically around 6 sessions), or more long term therapy (12-18 sessions) would be more suitable. You may wish to cover a variety of areas in your life and prefer open ended therapy. You may not know, and that is ok, we can take it step by step and discuss the best route together. I will always check in and review how we are doing and if we are on the right track.
