About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for being here, it's a great step to reach out for support and I aim to make this experience as comfortable as possible for you. You may be in a place in your life where you no longer wish to feel the way you do. Or perhaps no longer wish to carry around what is weighing you down at the moment. Whether you've noticed these changes in yourself recently or having been experiencing them for a long time, I aim to support you as best I can. With over 2500 hours of experience I aim to help you explore what is on your mind, offer new perspectives and help you to manage and cope with life’s difficulties.
I have almost 5 years experience working in a university counselling service with students. Since the start of 2022 I have worked alongside Victim Support, supporting clients experiencing traumatic grief. I specialise in working with clients aged 18-40 and some of the key areas I support clients in are self-discovery, anxiety, low mood and bereavement. I do not work with clients under the age of 18.
It is never easy taking this first step, but it can be the first step to living the life you want to through receiving therapeutic support. If you feel like you can and would like to arrange an initial free consultation, find out my current availability or have any questions for me please contact me via my profile or email address. Thank you.
I would describe my counselling practice as person centered whilst integrating other areas of my expertise and experience in order to best support you in what you need right now. What that means is I aim to support you in all aspects of what you are experiencing, and not apply how you feel to anyone else. I try not to limit down your experience to a series of thoughts and behaviours, but rather the whole of you, and how your past experiences may be affecting your current self. I aim to create a warm, safe space where you can hopefully feel held enough to share your difficulties and vulnerabilities currently. I work online only meaning you can access therapy from the safety and comfort of your own home as we work on Zoom together. I also offer telephone counselling if you prefer this method.
My first session
Following a free of charge 30 minute initial consultation on the phone or Zoom, if you agree to go ahead with counselling we will arrange our first session together. In the first session we can use this as an introduction to therapy, where we may explore your background, what you are hoping to gain from therapy and how you are doing now since our first conversation.
