About me and my therapy practice

Hi my name is Sara. I am a fully qualified counsellor registered with the BACP. People come to me to work through life’s challenges. Are you feeling stressed, anxious or maybe having relationship issues? Whatever it is that has lead you to seek out professional support I am here to help you make a positive change.

My way of working

I am a warm and approachable integrative counsellor who is fully trained to provide various modalities of therapy to suit your specific needs. Above all I believe that the counselling relationship is at the forefront for bringing about a positive change.

I provide talking therapy to work through what might be troubling you in the here and now, or you may want to explore unresolved issues that may be related to your past or upbringing.

On occasions if you feel comfortable? We might incorporate CBT skills. CBT has been proven to be beneficial for working with anxiety, stress, behavioural issues, trauma and improving self-esteem, low-mood and self-confidence. And is widely used within the NHS. Overall, it trains you to keep a watchful eye on negative patterns of thinking and apply techniques to control them.

Whatever brings to seek professional support we can work through it together at your pace.

My Experience

Prior to training to become a counsellor, I spent 19 years working in the corporate sector; this background means that I understand the demands of work, the dynamics of working relationships and the related stresses that can arise.

It was a major upheaval in my life that prompted me to seek therapy for my own mental health and prompted me to train to become a qualified counsellor and support others in challenging times.

I now I work in private practice and work with organisations and individuals, prior to this I spent a few years in the charity sector where I counselled individuals experiencing a host of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, stress and relationships issues.

Practice description

I provide short-term and long-term therapy face to face, online or by telephone.  Sessions can be carried out on a weekly or fortnightly basis.  Face to face counselling is available at my private practice located at the Victoria Therapy Centre in Saltaire Village.

Please feel free to contact me by phone or email. I offer a free 15 minute initial telephone call to talk about what brings you to counselling, to find out more about my approach, and for you to get a feel if we will be a good fit to work together.
