About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Dawn Monagle. As part of the team at Camden Therapy Rooms, I offer a safe and confidential space for you to bring whatever is troubling you. Perhaps you’re feeling limited by anxiety, struggling with depression, or having relationship issues. Perhaps you're feeling confused or uncertain and having difficulty making sense of your feelings.
When you confide in family and friends, they may give well-meaning advice that is right for them not you. You may sometimes feel judged and talked over. As your counsellor, I will listen with empathy and without judgement. At the end of each session, you will know that you have been heard and understood.
If you’ve experienced loss of any kind – from bereavement through to job loss – I will help you process what has happened. If you’re stuck in a rut or simply feel life could be better, I will help you to work out what you want and support you to make changes.
Through the counselling process, you will learn to tune into your feelings and get to know yourself on a deeper level. This can include how past life events have impacted you and may still be affecting you now. With more self-awareness, you will develop a kinder, more positive relationship first with yourself and then with others. You will discover your true self and what is important to you, which I believe is the path to contentment.
Counselling can be short-term or long-term, but it isn’t forever. My aim is to empower you to develop your ‘internal counsellor’ so that you can move forward in life with more self-understanding, self-compassion and confidence.
Practice description
I tailor my approach to suit the individual needs of the client, but all my therapeutic work is underpinned by a belief that everyone can find a way through their problems and grow as a person, whatever life has thrown at them. Together we will work through what is troubling you, gently, at your pace.
I also offer online or phone sessions if that suits your lifestyle better than face-to-face appointments.
Here are some testimonials from my clients:
"Dawn was amazing. A great listener and I felt so at ease talking difficult things over with her. She never pushed me. She naturally encouraged me to speak and open up. Dawn is in my opinion a highly commendable counsellor and I can see that she would have helped so many and will also continue to do so for many more." K.S.
"Dawn helped me to embrace my sad feelings rather than bury them. I have really benefitted from her help and can’t thank her enough." N.C.

My first session
It is completely normal to feel apprehensive about reaching out for help and question whether you are doing the right thing. What I can promise you is that once you've made that first contact you will feel better because you've taken action. There is no obligation to sign up for sessions – just see calling or emailing as a way of starting a conversation. I will led by your needs and work at your pace.
The key to successful therapy, above everything else, is the relationship between the client and counsellor. The no-obligation first session is offered at a reduced rate, so that we can get to know each other and assess your therapeutic needs before deciding on further sessions. If I feel that I'm not the best person to help you, I will be honest with you and refer you on to someone else.
Types of therapy
Behavioural, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Relational, Transactional analysis
Clients I work with
Adults, Older adults
