About me and my therapy practice

I have been working as a therapist for five years, working with a diverse client base and range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and more. I have extensive experience working with Black and Asian clients, as well as with those identifying as LGBTQIA+ and/or neurodiverse.

My therapeutic style is considered integrative, but is closest to person-centred. This means our sessions may look conversational rather than clinical, and I will provide an environment that feels safe, non-judgemental and open to dialogue. Therapy may be challenging at times, and I aim to make those challenges manageable.

Reaching out for support can feel like a difficult step, so I am happy to work with you to make that step as comfortable as possible through flexibility and openness.

Practice description

My primary focus through counselling is to offer a safe and non-judgemental space for you to share what you feel able to share. It is through this process that I believe the most positive support can be offered.

My experiences in previous and current work environments means I can support people through a wide range of presenting issues. I have spent time working with 999 responders, young neurodivergent people, adults working in high-stress corporate environments and more.

My first session

I offer a FREE  initial consultation.

In this 20 minute meeting we can get a chance to know each other a little. It will begin to give me a little context of what you might be bringing to counselling, and hopefully give you an idea of how we might work together.

At the end of the initial chat you have the choice to book your next session if you feel I am the right counsellor for you.

You can book an appointment by contacting me through the Contact page, or emailing dhlcounselling@gmail.com
