About me and my therapy practice

I am a highly motivated individual who is caring and passionate about providing therapy to those in need, by using an integrative approach, this includes Cognitive behavior therapy, Person centred and psychodynamic therapy approaches. I believe this collaborative approach is beneficial as therapy is not one style suits all.

I am a qualified Integral Eye Movement therapist which focuses on trauma and identity aspects through eye movement, in order to address the impact trauma has and is having on their lives and provide an alternative therapy approach which is much less invasive and less traumatising than conventional therapy approaches

I am able to gain a true felt sense for each and every individual and apply evidence based models to help provide them with the best model to suit needs, I do this whilst offering and emotional support in a non judge mental safe space.

I believe it is imperative to be respectful, Compassionate, Responsible and mature with good communication and personal skills. I practice the BACP code of ethics and principles both in my working roles and personal. I believe it is important to embody these and practice them as a way of being, they also reflect how passionate I am about helping others empower themselves in their own lives to tackle change and also highlight what is keeping this from happening.

It is the ability to truly put myself in others frame of reference and offer no judgments just autonomy and genuineness has been key to forming, building and maintain trusting relationships overtime which has enabled profound and effective change for clients as well as creating self awareness in their lives to recognise patterns and incorporate change. I have experience working with clients who have.

Practice description

Types of therapy

Integrative approach, looking holistically at clients needs and using a combination of appropriate modalities, best suited to a client's particular problem.

• Cognitive behavior Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on modifying dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and thoughts by interrogating and uprooting negative or irrational beliefs. Considered a "solutions-oriented" form of talk therapy, CBT rests on the idea that thoughts and perceptions influence behavior.

• Person Centred/ Humanistic

Person-centered therapy, also known as Rogerian therapy or client-based therapy, employs a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in sessions such that, in the process, they discover their own solutions.

• Psychodynamic

Identifying patterns. Psychodynamic therapy helps people learn to recognize patterns in behavior and relationships. People often develop characteristic ways of responding to problems without really being aware of these tendencies. Learning to spot them, however, can help people find new approaches to coping with problems.

• Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) - Trauma Focused therapy to help underlying emotions and feelings as well as identity aspects.

When we are asked to think about any memory or feeling or thought, our eyes move in certain directions. They are doing this as they are searching in different parts of your brain for the information that you are asking for.

IEMT works with these eye accessing cues, along with the feelings or identity you are experiencing and helps dissasociate the emotion from the stored memories. The result of this is that the feeling or imagery loses its emotional impact and becomes far less.

The change is rapid and effective.

IEMT is very effective with PTSD, fears & phobias, big negative emotions, panic attacks, repetitive negative behaviours and much more.
