About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling? Are you experiencing issues in your life such as anxiety, depression, loneliness or the inability to control your emotions - but you don't know where to go or how to reach out for help? Have you experienced a form of loss or trauma and want to talk it through with someone? Or, maybe there are some issues within your family/personal life that you want to get off your chest? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.

Seeking help is often the most difficult step of the journey, so well done for getting this far. However, I appreciate finding a suitable counsellor can also be a tough task. I've been in the position of both client and counsellor, so I understand the anxiety of trying to find someone that is the right fit for you. I acknowledge that it can be a daunting experience, particularly if you've never attended counselling before. Therefore, I offer a free consultation session to answer any questions you may have around the process.

My practice is primarily based online. This allows individuals the flexibility to access counselling from wherever they feel most comfortable. However, face-to-face sessions are also available.

I offer short and long-term counselling and I have various evening slots available. If you decide to go ahead with the initial consultation we can discuss what the best outcome would be for you and work from there.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience in working with organisations such as the NSPCC, WAVE Trauma Centre, PIPS Hope and Support and the NHS. Within these roles I have accessed relevant CPD and developed a breadth of knowledge and understanding in relation to; Trauma, Abuse, Anxiety, Depression, Suicide, Self-Harm and a variety of other issues.

Alongside this, I have obtained the following qualifications:

MSc Counselling and Therapeutic Communication with Professional Practice.

BSc Sociology with Psychology.

Level 4 Certificate in Counselling Studies.

My first session

I offer a free 15/20 minute consultation call via Microsoft Teams so we can introduce ourselves. This call enables a conversation around suitability, how I work, and it also provides you with an opportunity to ask any questions before deciding whether or not you'd like to go ahead with booking a session.

These consultation calls are invaluable, as the relationship is one of the most important things to consider when accessing a counsellor. I believe it is crucial that you have a counsellor you feel you can get along with. If I am not the right person, I will not take any offence and I am more than happy to suggest another counsellor that I feel may be a better fit.
