About me and my therapy practice
Jim Pannett - Humanistic Counsellor
I am a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor working in Brighton and Hove. Life can be challenging at times and it can be difficult to make sense of things, and it takes courage to walk through a counsellor’s door and speak of troubling and personal issues to a perfect stranger. I offer a space for dialogue and exploration of experiences, relationships, and the choices we make. I aim to establish a therapeutic connection that feels safe enough to enable you to move towards the life you want and need.
I will listen to, and try to understand, your lived experiences in a safe and non-judgmental environment, meeting you with empathy and honesty. Together we can explore your story, make sense of your life events and relationships, and help you discover the internal resources that will enable you to make the right choices for yourself.
Having been a client myself, I know the importance of finding a therapist who feels like a good fit. I will try to meet you where you are and to attune what is needed in the relationship, nurturing and enabling self-awareness as a starting point to bring about meaningful and positive change.
Alongside my career in counselling and psychotherapy I have worked in education for more than 20 years, as a teacher in key stages 2, 3 and 4. I have significant experience working with, and advocating for, young people with a range of SEND needs.
My full fee is £55 for each 50 minute session. I sometimes have the capacity to offer concessionary rate of £45.
