About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Alison and I am a qualified, BACP registered Counsellor. My approach is integrative, which means I have been trained in several theories so that I can tailor my work with you specifically to your needs.

I work with children (5+), teens, adults and couples, and adapt my work to the individual depending on age and the issues that you would like to work with me on. My work with children is generally play-based and creative but I will happily bring this into my work with teens and adults.

I believe that the relationship between the therapist and client is of utmost importance so I invite you to book a free 15 minute telephone or online consultation with me to make sure that you feel I am the right therapist for you. It may be helpful to have a think about any questions you might like to ask me and write them down before the call.

Practice description

I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space in quiet and secure therapy rooms in Sevenoaks, as well as Chislehurst and Sidcup. Online therapy is available to those based in the UK.

I work with all common mental health problems such as:

  • low self-esteem
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • abuse
  • work-related stress
  • relationships issues
  • bereavement

I have undertaken additional specialist training in:

  • counselling children and young people
  • couples counselling
  • baby loss and child bereavement (through PETALS and the Foundation for Infant Loss)
  • Animal Assisted Play Therapy
  • Breathwork coaching
  • Children's meditation and mindfulness tutor
  • Online and telephone counselling

I can facilitate group and individual sessions in managing long-term pain and I have a particular interest in nature-based therapy such as walk and talk in the woods and therapeutic gardening.

My first session

The first session will look a little different to subsequent sessions. In this session we will get to know each other and I will find out a bit more about what has brought you to counselling. Often people are worried or embarrassed about aspects of what they would like to talk about; I can assure you that you will be accepted without judgment for whatever you bring.
