About me and my therapy practice

I follow a Humanistic and Integrative model of therapy, which reflects my philosophy about life. I don’t think people are born bad, or choose to have issues, I believe that our experiences and relationships shape us into who we are. However, I believe that with the right encouragement, nourishment, and love, we can experience growth. Therefore, I seek to offer a warm, nurturing relationship that will facilitate change. I draw on a variety of theoretical frameworks to help this happen, but the common factor is offering you empathy, acceptance and human connection.

I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma in childhood, and who may now have a diagnosis of a personality disorder. These labels can feel overwhelming, but I always see the human being first, and seek to offer you a space without judgement or stigma.

I value working with difference and diversity, and I understand that the world outside the therapy room door shapes our experiences. I work with an intersectional awareness of gender, race, sexuality and other identity markers to enhance my ability to more fully understand what your experience of walking through the world might be, as well as learn more about my own. I have a special interest in working with LGBTQIAA+ people, as I know from my own experience that living life as one’s authentic self, in an identity that encapsulates who you are, is vital to health and happiness.

Practice description

Do you need support with what’s on your mind?

Maybe you feel depressed, anxious or unfulfilled in your relationships. Or perhaps you can’t stop thinking about the past, or worrying about the future. Your feelings might feel overwhelming, or you might feel shut down.

How can I help?

I can offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk about what’s on your mind. We can unpack it together, and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. We’ll build trust and create an environment where you feel safe to share what’s happening for you. I will offer you warmth, acceptance and empathy and a place to process and work through things. I will give you the support you need to make positive changes in your life, move forwards and start to feel better.
