About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Simon. If you’re struggling to deal with a challenge that is making life difficult for you, and that's hindering you from enjoying life, then I can help you to make sense out your struggle and to identify helpful ways forward. 

I will help you to develop greater insight and understanding of yourself and the issues you are facing. Self-awareness, coupled with self-compassion, is a vital ingredient in bringing about helpful change; using guided discovery we will work together to gain understanding of what lies behind your challenge. We will then work to identify solutions that bring about change and promote your personal growth.

I am an integrative therapist, having been trained in different pscholgical modalities, my highest qualification is a Masters Degree in Counselling. 

It's really important to find a therapist who feels a good fit for you, someone who you feel comfortable working with. I welcome enquiries from everyone, and offer a free initial consultation, allowing us the chance to connect, and where you can ask any questions you may have.

Practice description

I believe that we are all unique individuals and that therapy should reflect this. Accordingly, as an integrative counsellor, I utilise different psychological approaches in order to tailor my work to meet your personal needs. I understand my role as supporting you to find solutions that are helpful for the concerns that you have. 

Providing a space where you feel safe, where you will be heard and understood, and where you can set the pace and content are key ingredients to my approach. I recognise how past events, particularly in formative years, can shape the way we see ourselves, and that understanding these underlying beliefs enables us to bring about helpful change. 

Whatever it is that has brought you to counselling, we will work together to understand what is happening for you, and seek to identify helpful solutions that increase self-kindness, challenge unhelpful thought patterns and promote your personal growth.

My first session

The relationship with your therapist is key to successful outcomes in counselling, so finding the right therapist for you is important.

In light of this, I offer a 15 minute free initial consultation. 

This provides us opportunity to discuss your needs and expectations, and gives you with a better understanding of who I am, what I can offer, and allows you to ask me any questions you may have.

In our first session, I would usually focus on working on a shared understanding of the issue(s) that have brought you to therapy, and how it is impacting on your daily life in terms of your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. We might then establish some goals for our work together.
