About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, working in my own practice within the Sittingbourne and Sheerness areas.

Along with my qualifications I have a great deal of personal and working experience with a wide range of areas and issues and this leads me to be a very empathetic counsellor.

My specialist areas are

-Autism (ASD)

-ADHD

-EUPD/BPD (Particularly the trauma which has led to the diagnoses, and looking at methods to help regulate emotions.

-Men's Mental Health

-Suicide and Self Harm

Along with these areas I also work with

-Anxiety

-Depression

-Bereavement/loss

-Relationship difficulties.

My particular passion is working with Men's mental health, and Autism and ADHD.

The stigma many feel around Men's mental health is still quite strong for many, for this reason I really value men who find the courage to open up to anyone especially a counsellor, and feel privileged to be able to work with them.

With Autism and ADHD it is something I have grown up around in my extended family and now as a mother and wife I work daily with both and appreciate the challenges that many face especially with social isolation, loneliness and even with being understood and valued.

Practice description

I'm very aware that for many the thought of seeing a counsellor can be very nerve wracking the first time. Having sat in the client chair myself in the past, I appreciate how much it can take to reach out in the first place.

With this in mind I will always make it my mission to help you feel at as much ease as possible. I appreciate it will take time for you to build your trust in me and with this in mind I allow you to set the pace and tone of our sessions.

I am a qualified Person Centred counsellor, but also work in a very client focussed way that suits each person who walks into the room with me. I recognise the fact that you are the expert of your life and therefore work in a way that you feel non judged and appreciated for your self knowledge.

My main priority with the first session is to build your confidence in me and in the counselling process, to find out more about what you need from counselling and how best I can support you throughout the process.

My first session

Please get in touch with me by either telephone, text or email to arrange an initial call with me.

Appreciating that we are in a cost of living crisis, I offer a free no obligation 15/20 minute telephone or video call. This way you can get a feel for if I would be the right fit for you and the issue that you need help with.

Should you wish to book a first session with me, we can arrange the most appropriate appointment day and time, that works best.

Sessions will then be £45 for a 50 minute weekly session.

If you are struggling financially please discuss this with me, it may be that I can offer a concessionary rate.
