Availability

My practice is based in a lovely space in a central Faversham location, with parking close by. The space is accessible for wheelchairs (as are the facilities).

In terms of session timings, I aim to find a mutually agreed time slot which works for us both. This gives you a regular time and place you can rely on. I also endeavor to be flexible where circumstances require. Evening sessions are available.

I also offer sessions online where required. 

About me and my therapy practice

Beginning to explore counselling or psychotherapy is a big step, so well done for taking it. It can be also be daunting and, at times, confusing. You may know what challenge you want to address, but be unsure as to how. You may also be worried about what may happen you begin to face and address difficult emotions and thoughts. 

To support this process, I offer a non-judgmental, warm and empathetic space where we can work together to achieve positive change. While it may be challenging at times, we’ll take this important journey together, with you setting the direction and speed of travel.

Practice description

My approach offers person-centered / psychodynamic therapy combined with elements of solution focused therapy. In plain language (which helps, therapy shouldn’t be a mystery), this means I provide a non-judgmental space where we can explore how the past and present impacts how you feel and respond to the world. I also use symptom focused techniques where appropriate, including mindfulness and value orientated action. Together these perspectives can allow you to achieve deep and long-lasting change. I offer both short and long term therapy, face to face or online.

As an experienced and empathetic therapist, I believe that everyone is different and a method which is helpful for one person is not always going to be for another. Guided by this belief, the exact approach we take is tailored towards you as an individual.  My experience is that taking this perspective is effective for people who are facing a wide range of issues. I have also found it can be impactful for those who have had unhelpful experiences with other types of therapy in the past. As part of my therapeutic philosophy, I am happy to offer both short and long term therapy options. 

My first session

My first contact with potential clients is usually via a free and no-commitment initial consultation. This consists of a 15-30 minute phone or video call where we can discuss what you would like to achieve in therapy, how we could work together and I can answer any questions you may have. It’s also an ideal time to get a sense of who I am as a counsellor and whether us working together would be beneficial for you. If you feel there is a good fit, we can then arrange our first full session.
