About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am Liz and I acknowledge that there may be different reasons for what has brought you to here, you may have acted on curiosity, you may be finding things challenging and you could be thinking about change. I acknowledge that considering counselling therapy may feel overwhelming and I understand that it is essential that you find a therapist that you can connect with and build trust.

I can offer you a safe, empathic space that is free from judgement and enables you to explore your thoughts and feelings with a trusted person who will listen and will work with you towards your goals and to explore different perspectives. I believe in us working side by side and that counselling is a collaborative process.

I am trained as an integrative therapist, this means that we will work together using a range of techniques and theories to support you. I am a Registered Member of the BACP and I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I work within the BACP ethical framework and guidelines.

Practice description

I offer weekly or fortnightly sessions via telephone and online.  Sessions are 50 minutes in duration and take place weekly or fortnightly on the same day and at the same time.

Online sessions are via Zoom or Teams and I can offer sessions to both short term and long term clients.

I have a range of experience and have worked extensively with bereavement including young people who experience bereavement.  I have experience of working with people from a wide range of socio economic and cultural backgrounds.  I have also worked with people who are impacted by cancer - either directly as the patient or those who are affected when someone close to them is diagnosed.  I have worked with adults whose children have been diagnosed with a long term health condition or additional need.

My first session

I offer a 30 minutes initial call prior to the first session and this enables us to be able to have a chat and for you to make a more informed decision about proceeding to booking an initial session.

The initial session will enable us to talk about what has brought you to counselling, consider your hopes and expectations from what you want to gain from therapy.

We can then discuss the agreement between us for how we will work together.
