About me and my therapy practice

I know life can throw unexpected ups and downs at you. In our sessions, we will explore how you can build resilience and turn a page on what no longer feels helpful or fulfilling for you. Whatever you would like to work on, we will work together to identify what you need from therapy, tailoring your counselling sessions to you. I believe you are the expert in your life. Together with my knowledge of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I can support you in achieving your goals.

Use the contact form on this page to get in touch with me

My name is Kelly, I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I work Integratively, meaning I pull different parts of counselling together to shape a unique and tailor-made approach to your counselling sessions.

Bringing person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Polyvagal theory, psychodynamic and Gestalt together, allows me to work collaboratively with you to make your therapy sessions fit your needs.

Before training as a counsellor I studied social science, which allows me to develop a systemic understanding of our world. Similarly to my work as an integrative counsellor, studying social science allows me to bring elements of sociology, history, politics and psychology into my work and has allowed me to develop a broad and diverse understanding of ‘being human.'

Get in touch now to find out how I can support you via email, my website or social media.

While my knowledge and understanding of Counselling and Psychotherapy will at times guide us through our sessions, I believe that the therapeutic relationship we establish is where true change happens. By offering clients a safe, stable space to explore what brings them to therapy I have seen the importance of allowing a strong therapeutic alliance to be built upon. Working Human-to-Human to allow you to move towards the place you want to be, with me walking alongside you in the process.

Practice description

In-Person Sessions

I work from cosy room in the centre of Kirkcaldy, allowing us to have sessions together in-person. The therapy room is part of the Kirk Wynd Therapy Rooms. You will usually find me in the Blue Room which is on the first floor and has 2 large windows while benefiting from a sense of privacy as we will be off street level. While you wait for our session to begin, there is an inviting waiting area for you to relax in. I am located a 7-minute walk from Kirkcaldy Train Station.

Telephone and Video Sessions

I offer sessions over video or Telephone. You can attend sessions from home, work or somewhere that is safe and confidential for you. I ask the space be private and quiet during our call together as much as possible.

Counselling & Psychotherapy Sessions £50

Solution Focused Brief Therapy £50 per session + £50 assessment

Single Session - £105 (assessment and single session)

Qualifications and Training

  • Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate

I have attended training (CPD) courses, including menopause, diversity, Trauma and Neurodiversity and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

I believe in working inclusively with non-oppressive practice.

I have a particular interest in working with family estrangement.

When we no longer have a family member in our lives, this can bring mixed and often confusing feelings that we might not know what to do with.

The person isn’t in our life, it feels that they are gone but they haven’t died. We can feel a lack of closure, guilt, and questions of why

Estrangement can be experienced in various forms. Sometimes by our choice, a boundary is put in place to protect us. Sometimes it is someone else's choice, and we don't understand their reason. Maybe it was a mural agreement.

Working together to understand what you need now and how you can continue to support yourself as this situation unfolds, moving toward a place of acceptance as it is now, supporting you in feeling more settled.

My first session

I offer all new clients a one-off FREE and no-obligation 30 Minute Telephone or Video call to allow us to decent together if we would like to work together.

In our first session together we will explore what brings you to counselling. I understand that for some the first session can feel daunting, as we walk together we will gently explore what comes up for you in our session and look at how we might like to work on this in future sessions to allow us to shape your sessions to you.

I know reaching out for help can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming, which is one reason why considering your preferences is important to me. I aim to offer you a space to feel safe exploring yourself, free of judgement and confidence.

I view myself as patient and honest, meaning I will walk alongside you at your pace as we explore what you bring to your sessions.

Please take some time to explore my page, I look forward to hearing from you soon and joining you on your journey…
