About me and my therapy practice

As a person-centred therapist, I work in a way that is focused on the individual needs and experiences of each of my clients. I believe that every person has within them the potential to grow, change, and achieve their goals, and my role is to support and empower them as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of their lives.

My priority is to establish a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I aim to create a non-judgmental and accepting atmosphere where you can be yourself and explore your inner world without fear of criticism or rejection.

I listen actively and empathetically to what you have to say, seeking to understand your perspectives and experiences from your point of view. I strive to be present in the moment, reflecting on what you are saying and trying to constantly clarify and deepen my understanding of your thoughts and feelings.

As we build a relationship of trust and openness, I work collaboratively with you to identify your goals and aspirations and explore the challenges and obstacles that may be preventing you from achieving these. I believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives, and I work to empower them to find their own solutions and make their own choices based on their unique needs and values.

Throughout our sessions, I use a range of person-centred methods and approaches to support my clients in their journey towards self-awareness, growth, and healing. These may include empathy, reflection, validation, and exploration of core beliefs and values.

Practice description

As a client in my therapy practice, you can expect a safe and supportive environment where you are the focus of the therapy. I will work collaboratively with you to help you explore and understand your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment or pressure.

I will thrive to form a warm and empathetic relationship with you. I will take the time to get to know you and understand your unique needs and experiences, and I will listen actively and reflectively to what you have to say, creating a non-judgmental and accepting space where you can feel heard and validated.

Another important aspect of my approach is the emphasis on self-determination and autonomy. You are in control of your own therapy, and I will not impose any specific techniques or agendas on you. Instead, we will work collaboratively to identify your goals and help you explore ways to achieve them.

In the way I work, there is also a strong emphasis on the present moment. While past experiences and traumas may be discussed, the focus is on how those experiences are impacting you in the present.

Through exploring your present experiences and emotions, you can develop a greater sense of self-awareness and understanding and gain insight into your patterns of thinking and behaviour.

My first session

I usually offer a free 30-minute initial session so we can decide whether we are a good fit to work together. During this session, we will discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve from therapy. It is also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process, and available hours for sessions, or discuss any issue that you may wish to know regarding how I work, whether you want online or face-to-face counselling etc.

At the end of the session, there will be an opportunity for feedback on how the session went and whether you feel comfortable continuing with therapy or you may wish to have more time to think about it.
