About me and my therapy practice
I work with clients experiencing relationship and sexual difficulties. I am a qualified and experienced Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Psychosexual therapist. I trained at the internationally-renowned Tavistock Relationships in London where I now teach couples therapy, and tutor psychosexual therapy students.
My private practice offers both in- person appointments in East Grinstead, and online sessions in the UK and overseas.
Practice description
I work with individuals and couples to improve their relationships and sex life. I provide a safe space to explore the challenges facing you and help you to recognise what's going on under the surface. We can all get stuck in emotional reactions and patterns from the past without even realising it. Understanding yourself and your partner better can be empowering, even lifechanging for many clients. This is perhaps even more apparent in the sexual relationship, where anxiety, the longing to connect, and concerns about our bodies can contribute to sexual problems.
Relationship therapy focuses on the psychological aspects of how a couple fit together. We think together about communication, differences, patterns of relating that have developed in the couple, and the challenging emotions that make all relationships difficult at times.
Psychosexual therapy explores the use of both psychological and behavioural approaches to improve the sexual relationship or sexual functioning. I may give you things to take away from sessions and work on, as well as addressing the relationship issues that may be affecting sex.
In my practice I use both approaches as needed and we can discuss your specific needs in your initial consultation, and think about whether therapy with me would be helpful.
Common reasons that couples and individuals approach me for therapy include:
- Communication issues
- Arguments
