About me and my therapy practice

Whatever difficulties have brought you to this point, I will create a warm, understanding and calm place for you to share them and begin to leave some of them behind.

I focuses on four areas: anxiety, infidelity, mediation and life transitions.

Anxiety can affect us in many ways. Work performance stress, imposter syndrome, sleeplessness and panic attacks are all common. A combination of occupational psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and coaching help reframe these anxieties into manageable challenges that we feel ready to face.

Infidelity can be a devastating experience for all parties involved. Exploring the relationship as it was, understanding root causes of the breakdown, and whether trust can be re-established to create a new relationship, is central to this work. Your roadmap to a new life together or apart will involve several approaches: Cognitive and Behavioural Psychology, intergenerational behavioural work (which looks at patterns of behaviour learned as a child), integrative counselling and practical action plans for new behaviours. These are individual sessions rather than couples counselling.

You may need mediation when relationships break down and an amicable solution is important, to avoid court action or publicity. In Mediation we respect and focus on what worked in the relationship while figuring out what precipitated the breakdown. The goal is to leave Mediation with a peaceful agreement on how the shared life ahead is lived. One joint session is followed by seven individual ones where we work through all your concerns and interests. It culminates in a shared session to conclude your agreement.

Preparing for life’s transitions is something many of us neglect. Retirement is supposed to be a reward not a sentence; redundancy can be a release rather than a crisis. Together we roadmap how you have lived in the past and why; what you need in order to thrive now and in the future and create a life plan focused on happiness and fulfilment.

Practice description

Having had an interesting career in corporate life I transitioned to becoming an executive coach and then a Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Mediator . I completed a two year fellowship at the Institute of Coaching, McLean Hospital, Harvard, an MSc in Psychlogy at the University of Surrey and an FdSc in Counselling at the University of Greenwich, I concluded my psychotherapy training at The Priory Hospital. I'm also a member of the Civil Mediation Council and Internation Mediation Institute.

My practice is founded on an integrated approach to problems which we all experience. Sometimes they leak from our past to our present, our professional to our private lives. People often come with a specific issue, work related difficulties, a significant life event, or simply feeling out of control, overwhelmed or unfulfilled. Any of these can have a profound effect on our sense of who we are and how we cope in the world.

Working with a combination of assessment, psycho-education, psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy we can build a route to handle your issues with agency and acceptance. It is never too late to reform or too early to intervene in your life choices.

I have trained across several modalities (CBT, Transactional Analysis, Humanistic counselling, Gestalt, Psychodynamic Therapy) and experienced a range of work environments, I carefully assess which approach will work best for the combination of issues and environments you bring.

My first session

In our first session we meet and discuss what you are looking for. I can offer short-term focused solution led therapy or open ended therapy for more complex cases. What's most important is to get a sense of whether I can help, whether it would be useful to you to work together.

We will complete an assessment together relating to your past and current issues. This will lead our understanding of what is required.

We can all get bent out of shape trying to be what we think others want us to be, our boss, partner or parents. Sometimes just the daily grind of our circumstances have this effect. Finding your agency and va va voom in life again matters, let's see if we can do that together.

I am registered for private Insurance work with WPA Health Insurance, General and Medical Healthcare and Healix Insurance.

About me and my therapy practice

Whatever difficulties have brought you to this point, I create a warm, understanding and calm place for you to share them and begin to leave some of them behind.

I'm a Psychotherapist, Psychologist, Executive Coach and Mediator and focus on four areas: anxiety, infidelity, mediation and life transitions.

We all get bent out of shape at some point in our lives. Whether it's trying to be the person we think our partner, boss or parents want us to be, a traumatic life event or a gradual building up of circumstances that we can no longer deal with, it's okay to ask for help.

Before I worked in wellbeing I spent a decade and half in corporate life,  experiences include a Nasdaq listing, extensive M&A integration work, and P&L holding positions within FTSE 100 organisations. What I thought might give me career satisfaction and status did but simultaneously bent me out of shape too.

Some people think your parents/carers write your first act hopefully from the best of places, your dependents or peer group influence the second and you choose  to write from rest. Sometimes it's nice to have a sounding board on the journey.

Anxiety, Mediation , Infidelity and Life Transitions are my areas, if I can help, get in touch.
