About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified, humanistic counsellor. I bring warmth, gentleness, empathy, and a deep respect for who you are to the counselling work. I am interested in getting to know you and curious about what it feels like to be you. I’d love to be part of your exploration of your life and the personal stories that have made you who you are.
I feel grounded and assured in my role as a counsellor and I hope to offer this to you in our therapeutic relationship. I aim to work with you to create a space within our 50-minute sessions that feels reliably safe and non-judgemental to you. I aim to offer you compassion and understanding; a sense that there’s someone on your side, and gently challenge negative thoughts, beliefs, and feelings about yourself. The creative and theoretical modalities I employ in my practice can help bring out hidden issues gently and sometimes playfully.
I strongly believe that most of our difficulties arise from being too hard on ourselves and operating from a blueprint of beliefs gleaned from childhood experiences, and erroneous negative beliefs about what’s possible for you. I believe you are infinitely loveable. I hope to act as a kind and gentle hand to hold on your journey towards self-compassion and understanding.
Practice description
Sessions last 50 minutes and are offered weekly or fortnightly.

My first session
I offer a complementary 30-minute initial session to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and to learn about you and how I can best support you. This session also offers us both a chance to explore whether we are a good fit. There is no obligation to work with me after this. Choosing the right therapist is an important decision and I recommend you meet with a few before making your choice.
