About me and my therapy practice

Life's challenges often hit us when we least expect it, leaving us feeling shaken and unsure of how to move forward. As a male counsellor specialising in supporting men* through tough transitions such as bereavement, redundancy, divorce, abuse, and bullying, I understand the pressure to keep emotions bottled up and put on a brave face. But burying those feelings only adds to the burden.

In my practice, I provide a safe haven where men* can drop the armour and explore their emotions without judgment. I get it – vulnerability isn't easy, especially for us guys*. But I'm here to show you that it's okay to let those walls down, to talk about the pain, the confusion, and the uncertainty. Together, we'll work through the tough stuff, building resilience and finding strength in the process.

Here, it's just you and me – no need to put on a show. We'll dive as deep into your struggles as you wish to go, unpacking emotions and finding practical ways to navigate through them.

Whether you're grieving a loss, reeling from a job setback, or wrestling with the fallout of a broken relationship. Together, we'll chart a course for healing and growth – no judgment, just support.

My practice is tailored to men* who struggle with vulnerability and find it hard to express their emotions. If you're tired of going it alone, if you're ready to break free from the "tough guy" facade and get real about what's going on inside, I'm here to help. No judgment, no pressure – just a safe space to be yourself.

*Whilst I specialise in counselling men, my practice is open to every gender and non-binary clients. If you struggle with vulnerability and want support then you are in the right place.

Practice description

As a counsellor with a wealth of experience gained as a Samaritans Listening Volunteer and a Hospice Bereavement Counsellor, I bring a unique blend of compassion, empathy, and acceptance to every session.

What to Expect:

Compassionate Support: I understand that reaching out for help can be daunting, which is why I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable expressing yourself without fear of judgment. Whether you're grappling with grief, navigating a major life transition, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the challenges of daily life, I'm here to offer a listening ear and a compassionate heart.

Tailored Approach: No two journeys are the same, which is why I take a personalised approach to counselling. Drawing from my core training in various humanistic therapies (Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis), I'll work with you to tailor our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals. As your self awareness develops, the choices open to you will increase thereby enabling you to move forward with your life.

The therapeutic relationship:  The degree to which you feel safe  will impact upon the level of trust you place in me and largely determine the effectiveness of the therapy. I aim to understand what it is really like to be you, within your situation, so that you experience me as walking beside you as we navigate your challenges together. Strength lies in vulnerability –  I know firsthand the power of empathy, connection, and shared humanity. Shame cannot survive in a supportive relationship.

A Journey of Healing: Counseling is not about "fixing" you or erasing your pain – it's about embarking on a journey of healing, growth, and self-awareness. Together, we'll explore your emotions, uncover your strengths, and chart a course toward a brighter tomorrow. Whether you're facing a specific crisis or simply seeking greater clarity and fulfilment in your life, I'm here to help you find your way forward.
