Practice description
As a therapist, building up a good relationship with you is important to ensure you feel you have a safe place to explore what you want to work on about yourself. I will provide you with the space to be heard and understood without judgement, and the time to work at your own pace, from there we will work together to find long lasting ways of improving your life.
My therapy approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This therapy approach will help you look at and understand difficult feelings, circumstances or relationships in your life that are causing you distress. With compassion and support from me, the aim is to help you move forward, start enjoying life, and improve your overall mental health.
As well as my private practice I work in helping young adults, to adults to older adults within NHS GP services with a variety of issues

I have also worked within a Domestic abuse organisation helping people (both males and females) who have experienced domestic abuse to recover, and rebuild their self esteem and confidence in themselves, which may have been affected due to their experience of domestic abuse.
As a current registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I maintain my practice by working within the standards set within their code of ethics which includes supervision on a regular basis.
I hold a Current DBS check
My first session
The first initial appointment is a free video, or phone call so we can have a chat about your current situation, your background, what you want help with, or what changes you would like to see in your life. This information will help me to understand you and your circumstances and will also give you the opportunity to see if I'm the right therapist for you. If you feel that I'm not the right therapist, then that's also fine, there is no obligation to begin therapy.
If you decide to go ahead with therapy, we can arrange a time slot for your first session. At the start of session one, the initial assessment, I will discuss contracting with you. This part of the process outlines confidentiality, the limits of confidentiality, and my membership with the British Association for Counselling Psychotherapists (BACP).
