I currently work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We can work either in-person (BS6) or online.

About me and my therapy practice

I believe everyone can benefit from therapy at any and all stages of life. Everyone will have their own reasons for seeking out therapy. We all live in an isolating, and sometimes lonely, world where meaningful communication can feel impossible - I hope to provide a therapeutic relationship where meaningful communication can help you understand yourself and identify a way of living which feels right for you. Changing how you see yourself and the world is not easy, but the process need not be one you undertake alone. Therapy can be a collaborative journey of exploring and understanding what is most vital within yourself.

My approach to therapy offers a space to step outside of the ever increasing pressures and demands the modern world is constantly putting on us, and really give time and attention to yourself and what is going on for you. It's an opportunity to sit down with someone professionally trained to support you in processing what isn't, and is, working for you in your life.

Everyone deserves to feel more connected and understood, both within yourself and in the world. Reaching out for support is a brave and kind act, and often a necessary one. I hold two qualifications in counselling and psychotherapy:

A Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from Roehampton University.

A Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).

I also have experience working in both private practice and counselling organisations, including an NHS IAPT service, a bereavement service, and a low-cost counselling service.

Practice description

My approach to our therapy is an integrated mix of person-centred, humanistic and existential approaches. In practice, this means our work together is collaborative and follows what you feel is most essential to address. My approach will create a space for you to express and share your inner world with another, trying to identify a way of living which feels meaningful and sustainable for you. I trust that you know what hurts, or isn't working for you, and I will support you in working together to address those areas.

I have also trained psychodynamically, which emphasises how one’s past experiences influence one’s current thinking, behaviour and relationships. Part of our work may also incorporate making sense of your past and becoming aware of how those experiences impact your present and future.

My first session

Prior to booking in a session together I offer a free consultation, either online or over the phone. This is so we can meet, give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have, and we can decide whether we would like to work together.

With our first session we can further identify what you would like from your therapy and establish a framework for how we will work together. I’ll also review my professional policies with you around your rights to confidentiality. From there we can continue for as long as you feel like you’re benefitting from it.
