About me and my therapy practice

I am a registered, qualified and experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor who specializes in working with adults who are struggling with painful emotions, mental health issues, and experiencing relationship difficulties.

Through self-reflection and exploration in a safe and empathetic therapeutic relationship, we work together so you can gain the knowledge, tools and insights needed to create lasting change.  By gaining insight into the unconscious dynamics that influence your thoughts and behaviors, you can experience positive change in your emotions, relationships and mental well-being that goes beyond surface-level diagnosis and symptom management.  Instead, I focus on helping you uncover the root causes of your unique situation and addressing deep-seated patterns that may be holding you back or causing difficult emotions.

With over 20 years experience helping individuals achieve their personal and professional development goals as an executive coach and leadership development and organizational psychology expert, I understand that many of the challenges people face (in our personal wellbeing or in the workplace) are underpinned by emotional difficulties and long established unconscious patterns and thoughts that are repeated from early life experiences. My interest and experience in helping people foster meaningful and lasting change in their wellbeing led me to undertake a Masters Degree in psychodynamic therapy.

I specialize in working with adults (23+).  As each individual is unique,  I tailor my approach to meet the specific needs and goals of my clients who are struggling with concerns, such as anxiety, depression, difficulty regulating emotions, trauma, difficulty in relationships, and other behavioral or emotional issues.

Academic Background & Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree (MA) in Psychodynamic Counselling
  • Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Coaching
  • Certified Psychometrics Trainer & Coach
  • Significant Ongoing Professional Development

Practice description

I work in Hadleigh, Suffolk offering in-person psychotherapy and counselling to adults (18+)

My first session

I offer an 20 min introductory phone call so you can share why you are looking for therapy and I can to answer any initial questions you may have before you decide to book an initial consultation.

In our first consultation session together we will review what has brought you to therapy in more detail, your personal background, and any therapy/counselling and medical history.  It is also a chance for us to get a sense to see if you are comfortable that we we can work together, ensure that my practice is suitable to meet your unique needs and answer any further questions you may have.  Depending on your individual circumstances, this initial meeting may last either 50 min (£65) or 1hr 15 min (£85).

I will then discuss with you my recommendations for future work together for you to consider, such as short term or long term therapy options.  In some instances, the initial consultation may take more than one session to get a complete picture before a recommendation can be made.
