About me and my therapy practice

Struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem or self-harm? Feeling overwhelmed, navigating family issues, or just looking for support?

I am a psychological therapist and general counsellor trained in CBT-E and Gestalt therapy, currently additionally working within the NHS, and offering private one-to-one online sessions. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and abide by their guidelines and framework.

In my role, I use a person-centred approach and work with clients at their own rhythm and pace, building a professional and trustworthy relationship. We will look at your current situation, and work towards understanding the impact of past relationships and experiences on your present circumstances.

Our focus will be on uncovering the link between your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to build awareness, and recognize and overcome negative thought patterns.

My approach is tailored to each individual since no two people experience life situations in the same way. I aim to understand each person's priorities and connect with them to address their specific life concerns. This might involve addressing unresolved emotions and challenging life experiences, examining relationships or overcoming unhelpful beliefs and thought patterns.

Broadly speaking, Gestalt therapy is a practical integrative therapeutic approach, which aims to help individuals to concentrate on their present thoughts, emotions, and actions, fostering a deeper understanding of their interpersonal dynamics. This heightened awareness can facilitate the discovery of a fresh outlook, a broader perspective, and initiate the process of instigating positive changes, with a more compassionate self-view.

Practice description

I work with clients to help them focus on self-awareness: on what is happening from one moment to the next, in the here and now. Increased awareness and understanding of the current circumstances, of one’s immediate thoughts and behaviour, and of patterns of relating can bring about powerful change and new perspectives.

If you're considering therapy but have uncertainties or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out; I offer a free 15 minute call to ensure that we will work well together.

Therapy sessions take place online each week, for 50 minutes. Our work can be long-term, open-ended or short-term, depending upon your goals, budget or priorities in life.

My first session

We will meet for an initial online session which takes 50 minutes. During this time we will discuss your needs, goals, expectations, and my style of working and come up with a plan if we decide to work together further.
